Steven Matthew Catlett, 30, former longtime New Smyrna Beach resident, died suddenly Friday, June 23, 2017 in Charleston, West Virginia. Steven was born in Gainesville, FL and had been a resident of New Smyrna Beach until 2006 when he joined the U. S. Marine Corps. Upon his discharge from the service in 2011, he moved to Sevierville, Tennessee and later began his career as a truck driver for CRST Trucking in Norfolk, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Danielle M.; father, Samuel Leon Catlett, New Smyrna Beach and mother, Rae Ann (Glenn) Carter also of New Smyrna Beach; sister, Stefanie E. (Michael) Adams of Maryville, TN; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Catlett of Kodak, TN; maternal grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Gordon of New Smyrna Beach, niece, Rebecca Rae Adams; nephew, Samuel Thomas Adams and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Friday, June 30, 2017 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach. Burial will be at a late date in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims with U. S. Marine Corps rendering military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Stevenís memory to Wounded Warrior Project.org.
