Donald James Houser, 64, New Smyrna Beach, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Don was born in Compton, CA and had been an area resident since 2004 coming from Seattle, WA. He was a Navy Machinistís Mate First Class retiring after 22 years of service and veteran of the Vietnam Era and Desert Storm. Survivors include his wife, Lori Gardner Forrest-Houser; daughter, Meaghan Michelle Houser of Spokane, WA; step daughter, Heather Lynn Vanderlinden of Ft. Myers; two step sons, Stephen Joseph Forrest of Los Angeles, CA and Scott Michael Cail-Forrest of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Ronald Dean Houser of Cologne, VA, John Martin Houser of Liberty Hills, TX and Robert Eugene Houser of Quartz Hill, CA; brother-in-law, David Gardner of New Smyrna Beach; sister-in-law, Kathy Frey of Titusville; step granddaughter, Lillian Grace Vanderlinden and his beloved dog, Bentley. Memorial gathering of family and friends will be from 2 PM until 4 PM Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Dudley Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach. Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1737 N. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 140, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
