Joseph Francis Kulick, 89, New Smyrna Beach, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Emory L. Bennett Memorial Veterans Nursing Home, Daytona Beach. Mr. Kulick was born in Mount Carmel, PA and moved to the area 30 years ago from Mechanicsburg, PA. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era and retired from the Army Security Agency in 1968 as a Captain and Intelligence Agent after 20 years service. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, and numerous service medals while in Korea, Germany and Vietnam. After his retirement to Florida, Joe and his wife of 63 years, Joan, traveled extensively, visiting all 48 contiguous States by Recreational Vehicle and took many cruises to Central America, the Caribbean and the Island of Jost Van Dyke located in the British Virgin Islands. Joe was a collector of beer steins and during his travels in Europe he collected different steins from various restaurants which he proudly displayed in his home. Joe’s memberships include The Happy Wanderers Walking Club; Veterans of Foreign Wars Association, Disabled American Veterans Association and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Joan F.; three sons, John (Renee) Kulick, James Kulick and Jeffrey (Mary Catherine) Kulick; one daughter, Joan Smith; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Joseph Francis Kulick, Jr. in 2005. Visitation will be from 6 PM until 8 PM with a Wake service at 7:30 PM on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Dudley Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Friday, February 1, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
